So tonight I made it my mission to wrap up the fourth fanfic from NaNoWriMo. And I did it. There were some great scenes in the epilogue, and honestly, I liked them a lot more than the rest of the story! LOL

I had a hard time writing the final scene of the story though because I'm not sure what I'm doing after this. I know I am going to write the wedding story eventually because everyone that has followed me with the four fanfic I wrote for November are now shipping Christien and Victoria, and so are asking for that story. I just don't think the whole story can be the wedding, so now I'm going to let that story brew and maybe do some reading.

I cant' bring myself to read The Bane Chronicles now. In fact, after last night, I am completely turned off by the Mortal Instruments right now. I am sure that will fade with time after I've come to my senses. I am going to miss the RP more than anything else, I think. :( But I'll be alright, eventually. I may even be able to play Simon soon.

Adrian gave me an idea for a fanfic. A Mortal Instruments Fanfic. I am going to kill him later. LOL. Or maybe I'll write it and allow it to heal me. It's about Simon as a Shadowhunter. And yes, probably might have some elements from the Tara verse... cause I am now going to have to re-configure that whole thing so that no part of what me and Val did is involved. :( But this could be fun for me. SOME of it may bleed through because I like the original concept I had before we started RPing it....ugh. Why does that have to hurt so much? I knew that that was going to be hardest part of letting her go.

Simon: Hey, we were here way before she was....

Me: I know...

Alec: Hey, I refuse to let you let her ruin this for you.

Me: I know you do. You've all been golden. Just like my friends in the physical plane, and I couldn't be luckier to have all of you. <3 Just...give me time, please?

Alec: don't worry, I will. Just...come back to us when you're ready?

Simon: She will. She has stories she wants to tell.::broad grin::Hey, can our band be really popular in your fanfic?

-dies- Yes, Simon. I will make sure you guys are mega famous, okay? I gotta do something in JOrdan's honor.

Trivia: My TRUE official anime was probably Sailor Moon or one of the Nick Jr. Shows that used to air in the early 90s. (The Noozles or The Little Koala.)

The End

So a lot of you here on Dreamwidth know what happened last night, but I still need to process it, and put it somewhere so I have a record of it. Things happened so quickly last night, and afterwards all I wanted was to bury myself in the Robas and pretend things hadn't happened. Which is a total Victoria tactic, but they do say that sometimes you put yourself in your characters...lol.

Anyway. So Valerie and I are no longer friends. That's the bare bones of it. I shared a very important story with her in trying to explain what's been causing me (mostly) to stay away from her. I don't know how many times I can type out taht story without crying again, so I'm not going to talk about that. I just... I can't. Maybe ask me in a day or two?

The nuts and bolts of it was that she was far too obsessed with RPing The Mortal Instruments with me, and right now, especially after last night, I can't have myself bombareded with that fandom. I love it dearly, and I will always love that fandom. But with the realization I made last night about the real reason I was able to get into it, I just can't right now. And when I tried to explain that to her, I was sure to tell her that it wasn't anything she, personally, was doing. Because if you definitely at least don't say that, she'd take it wrong.

It back fired on me. Big time. Instead of comforting me, and reassuring me that this pain associated with this fandom and Mama Kat would go away eventually, she made it all about her, and that's what I felt tipped the scale towards leaving. I finally realized that no matter WHAT my problems were, she was going to find some way to make them about her.

With the trial coming up, and the raw of emotion of the one year anniversary with Mama Kat...I Just don't need a friend who can turn anything into something about her. I need someone who will just listen, and respect that not everything is about her. It was the hardest damn thing I had to do telling her, and admitting to myself, even that I was having trouble enjoying The Mortal Instruments!!

But now the rush back to Nostalgia makes more sense. Too much shit changed over the year. First with Mama Kat passing so suddenly, then the end of The Mortal Instruments series itself....with Yu gi oh, my Robas and Victoria were exactly the same as I remembered them. Victoria was still always just wavering on insane, Christien was still fighting to keep her sane, and protect her, Espa and Jonathan were still being elder brothers... Kaiba was still being reluctant...you get me?

I just really needed to find them again, and be reminded what it was like NOT to have something remind me of anyone. Yu gi oh, at it's core, gave me some of my closest friends, and a lot of you, I still talk to. Maybe not nearly as often as I'd like anymore, but I try. But I was into it deep before I met most of you. Some of you I met strictly because of certain Yu gi oh characters. You know who you are. And Victoria definitely wouldn't be who she is without certain people. My only regret in this fandom is that in the FANFIC verse, I've lost contact with one of my favorite people, and now that I'm posting more Roba fics in a few months, I'd really like to let her see what I ended up doing with them. I took a simple concept she had, and just ran wtih it. (With her blessing, of course! She reviewed my first Roba fic, and helped me with some of the finer points of the younger Robas' personalities. So while I take credit for them, I never forget that she helped me. I just miss talking to her now that I've gotten that far.)

Anyway, I'm about to finish up the epilogue of the final Wyatt-centric fanfic for Yu gi oh, and then I probably will take a long break from writing to focus on RPGing. Just to get that sense of "Okay, yeah, I can still do this...with or without Valerie". Okay.

Trivia: Victoria shares a birthday with [personal profile] insaneladybug because her first appearance in fanfic was posted for Daisy on October 3rd. (It was her birthday present!)

So today is the first day of December, and that means National Novel Writing Month has officially come to an end. I have mixed emotions about it, but I'll start with the good stuff. Like my stats for the month.

This year's NaNowriMo marks the first time I have ever gone over 60k words. My total for the entire month of November was 168,051 words. This is an amazing feat that I am not sure I will ever repeat. I may have to give myself a new goal next year. We shall see.

I finally defeated TJ. TJ is someone I have been fighting to leapfrog and surpass for the last 3 years of NaNoWriMo, as he and I appear to be the top writers in Maryland (that I have added and can see stats for). TJ's count was 10k less than mine at midnight. I want to thank CURLING for that. TJ loves writing, but he admitted to me last month that curling is his true love, and so he was gone an entire weekend, and I took full advantage of it. I was 10-11k words ahead of him the rest of the month.

Other stats: 3 and 3/4 Fanfics written. All of them leading up to the end of the Wyatt saga, and I'm so thankful. Wyatt Munroe is possibly one of the most ANNOYING villains I have ever created. He's twisted, and just downright cruel. I hate getting into his head because I KNOW what he's thinking, and I know why, and just like with Aaron Roba, it's for the wrong reasons!

Some good things that have come out of everything for Victoria though:

1. She's engaged and will become a permanent part of the Roba family (although Espa, Jon, and Christien argue that she was already a permanent fixture once she was full time taking care of Andrew and Ej)

2. She has a steady job, and an up and coming vocal career either on stage or in a recording studio (that last bit hasn't been revealed yet in the fic-verse.)

3. She'll finally be able to make peace with her past, and be able to let go of a lot of the bad stuff that's happened. And can now focus on her future life with Christien.

4. She's also learned to branch out and trust others outside of her normal circle of friends. She's befriended Griffon (who she didn't know was a Roba at the time of their meeting so I'm counting it), Teran Bishop, the older Robas, Cale and Spencer (even though her relationship with them had a setback because of their triplet brother Aaron), she's accepted Weevil and Rex as friends although she keeps them at arm's length. Her greatest suprise as a friend though has been Wade Munroe, Wyatt's twin.

All in all this year of NaNoWriMo has been a great comfort to me. It was nice to return to something so familiar to me in the wake of all the loss, and changes that have happened in the last few years. Its nice to know that no matter how much I lose, or how many things change, my Robas and Victoria will be there to make things right again.

I would also like to say that there were times in the fanfic that I really had fic imitating life. Having Marcia be let out of the hospital followed by the reaction from the family (Victoria in particular) was potent, and it was therapeutic for me considering all things going on this month.

NaNoWriMo 2014 Winner Badge!

Yesterday went out with a hitch. I helped Mom quite a bit, and because of that, I actually now have a day where I have no work to do in the house. My brother on the other hand... he didn't even get up till a quarter to 2 yesterday. Got well enough to go to his friend's house last night, and then had the audacity to keep me awake off and on all night. Goddamn. He has to do chores between today and tomorrow. Sunday, I will not be here. Hopefully I will be seeing Big Hero 6 before my final write-in for the month.

I can't believe the month is over On Sunday! Wow. What the actual hell? The month just went by SO SO Fast. Like, BOOM! And now December is coming, which means I will definitely be back on to RPG tracks. <3 I have a whole thread that needs wrapping up. I have idea for other threads at GrandeLatte... (I keep wanting to say Green Tea Latte...the actual hell, self?).

I will also begin working once more on my Hunger Games RPG, Panem Prevails, which takes place in District 13. I will be doing all of this without help because I definitely do not want anyone else on board. Fractured Truth was a colossal failure, and I just don't know if I want to have anyone else involved this time.

Fanfiction is sitll growing strong, but believe it or not, I am feeling the urge to work on/start over on my Dystopian series, the Infinites. That is awesome! I haven't felt that kind of inspiration in months. This is good news for my original work load. Whoo! I am excited. I am very happy that my fanfiction is so much fun!!

So.....I thought it might be time to do a full time line. Becuase I can imagine poeple are so confused about ages, and I'm a bit confused, too! So let me try this:

"Snake in the Grass"- Victoria was 5.

"Return to Me"- She was 12 about to turn 13. (Her birthday is October 3rd)

"Entrapment"- She as 14. (This is also where she started performing on stage with Phantom of the Opera with Christien)

"Into the Lion's Den- She's about to turn 15 when school starts. (though Christien mistakenly claims she is 15 already)

"Into the Fire" Takes place about a year later, making VIctoria sixteen.

"The Troubled Triplet" Victoria was seventeen. (So she was 17 when she got engaged)

"Her Fading Voice" She's still seventeen because it doesn't take place quite a year later yet.

"Down Once More" She has recently turned eighteen. And now is officially the age of consent.

I need to make something else kinda clear. Even though Victoria is legally an adult, she is still childlike at times due to her psychosis. Christien and the other Robas do the best they can take care of her.
faeriewings1781: (Default)
Total written for the day: 4,512
Total Overall: 139,227

OMG. The last two nights of writing have just been crazy. Some of you heard about last night's love fest. Tonight was the exact opposite. Victoria revealed to Espa that she had once thought about killing herself, and only her love for the Robas and the Ishtars had stopped her. This was apparently at some point during her recovery from being abducted by Wyatt. Thankfully, she was in the hospital and of course wouldn't have been able to carry it out anyway.

Christien had a big problem with her not ever telling him about that, and he exploded on her and told her that he wouldn't have a marriage with her full of secrets. This prompted Victoria to reveal that she'd been thinking about things back in her world, and whether or not her friends there even missed her. She was also missing Johanna, and the nightmares she had were scattered between the Shadow Realm, the stage (with Wyatt), various locations with Aaron, and Marcia on occasion.

He wondered what she'd been telling her therapist that all of these things were still bothering her. (Some of, not all). He then reveals that he is terrified to death of them being married and what that would bring. Apparently, bridal catalogs make him nervous! LOL.

Victoria tells him that they have a couple of years, and that she wanted to do it on their eighth anniversary of performing Christine and The Phantom. Since the wedding is going to be Phantom of hte Opera themed. Haha. I can just see Christien's face when he finds out that Meghan got her way. LOL.

Tomorrow, they leave for Vegas, Victoria is reunited with Teran, Spencer, and Cale. She gets to see Marcia though only briefly.

Back in the carnival side, Jonathan invites Kendra come stay for the summer because his girlfriend wants to learn a bit more about the carnival lifestyle, and is taking summer voice lessons at the Conservatory to improve her range. (She's taken quite well to the stage, after a few side parts, and taking on Carlotta in the final performance of Phantom of the Opera that she and Victoria did together).

Tomorrow, writing aside, is the premiere of The Hunger Games: MOckingjay Part 1. <3 I will be seeing it Sunday, and so have been avoiding any spoilers about the movie. Yes I have read the book, and I know who dies when. I just don't want to hear how the movie differs yet. I want to find that out on my own.

It also marks the return of Girl Meets World with new episodes! YES! I am considering watching a marathon my tablet tomorrow as I write. I have missed Farkle so much!!

Trivia: The parts in Phantom of the Opera are as follows:

The Phantom- Christien Roba (understudy Griffon Roba)
Christine Daae- Victoria Ishtar (understudy Miranda Wilson)
Raoul DeChangy- Jonathan Roba (understudy Teran Bishop)
Carlotta- Kendra Underwood (understudy Erica Stanley)
Piangi- NPC
Meg Giry -Meghan Raptor
Firmin- NPC
Madame Giry- Ella Ford (at the Conservatory)

Most of the extra cast members were never named because it wasn't necessary. Just the principle cast. <3
faeriewings1781: (Default)
So I am not cross-posting this entry because someone who I know is very conservative will see it, and may possibly never read another one of my fanfics again. So. Tonight I started the fourth fic of NaNoWriMo. This fic will include some much needed closure for Victoria with Marcia Roba.

What I wasn't counting on it including was Victoria and Christien finally doing this full on make out session that got pretty damn hot and heavy. It bordered on soft porn, I would believe. O_O

I don't write scenes like this! Well, okay, no I did write one scene like that in the original draft of The Powers book #1, but this one actually went beyond even that!

But I did stick to my principles, and I probably will. Steamy make outs, yes. Sex before marriage? No. But I've held that belief for as long as i can remember. It had nothing to do with religious beliefs cause screw letting some old guy in a robe tell me what to believe in... but. (No offense to anyone on my list who are very religious. That's just how I feel).

I just really loved "watching" Christien and Victoria go that next step, and how careful and conscience of her Christien was. He was even hesitant to remove her bra after she said it was okay to do so. It was so sweet, and kind, and sensual...that's just really how their relationship is when it comes to the romance of it, though. On the surface, they're two best friends that fell completely in love with each other. But alone, there's this amazing passion between them, and it was incredible to finally bring that out. I've always wanted to, and never found a great opportunity to do so. Now I have, and it was random, but the Robas are KNOWN for being random.... this is just a more "mature" random, I guess.

Sensual Sweetness )

I am excited to see what happens next! This was just So much fun!

Trivia: Nora was named after Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
faeriewings1781: (Default)
Okay! So I really should take a day or two off, right? I am close to finishing up another fic. I'm excited, but really tired, too! I'm ecstatic that I'm able to get these fics off so good, but I'm not sure I'll be able to keep at it for another two weeks!

Today I wrote 7,176 words
My total is now 128,346

So my next fic will be taking place between the carnival and the Conservatory. It will be a direct sequel to the one I wrote just now. I will also have a heavy suplot between Jonathan and Kendra who wants to join the Conservatory instead of abiding Weevil's wishes to take community college courses. I really want to explore that relationship a bit since now Espa and Christien had gotten engaged. Oh, don't worry. Jon and Kendra haven't gone out long enough, but it would be neat to see some more of it.

It will also deal with Jonathan's taking over the duties Espa handled, and seeing just how much work his elder brother did. Which will be comical and stressful at the same time. I can't wiat to get into Jonathan's head so much. I've only written from his point of view a few times, but being as he is now the eldest there, it makes more sense for me use him as a POV.

In the midst of midterm exams, Victoria is going back and forth to Domino to confer with Meghan and Kendra about wedding plans. Haha. This should be fun! Weevil and Rex will probably face-palming a lot, while Kaiba starts doing the numbers. ROFL. Me and Kay have this ongoing thing about Kaiba writing blank checks, and just handing them out to the Robas/Victoria. ROFL. It would not surprise me bit if he ends up paying for SOME if not ALL of the wedding expenses. But if I know the Ishtars as well as I think I do, they're already setting money aside in Egypt for the occasion. There's no doubt in my mind that they will make a surprise appearance at the wedding. (I am still trying to figure out who Victoria would most want to give her away. I am leaning towards Marik, big time). If it isn't Marik, it'd be Espa. But I'm just on the fence about it. I've seen weddings where two or three people gave the bride away. In the case it would definitely be Rishid, Marik, and Espa. Hee... okay, I'm getting a headache trying to plan this out now. And as it is officially half past midnight... (and I know it says 11 something, but that's just when I started.

Trivia: Kendra Underwood's original incarnation had her dealing with Cerebral Palsy which I had. I subsequently decided that I didn't want to write a fictional version of the disability, so in the following fics that included her, there was no other mention of it.
faeriewings1781: (Espa Roba)
So many feels!! She got cleared for carnival work on light duty. Wade invited her, Christien, Jonathan, and Griffon to perform at an Open House showcase for the fall semester of his school. Christien flipped out and forced Suggesiton on Victoria to keep her safe from Wade, Jonathan went in and erased that memory, and saved Christien's rear... it's been a good night! Oh, and...Espa is engaged! And also...The Ishtars are moving to Egypt.

This prompted a mild mild tantrum on Victoria's part, which Christien, of course managed to pacify. (She didn't throw this tantrum in the Ishtars' presence, of course.)

yeah, that's what happened in 9k words today. I can't believe I've written this much, and I'm still quite eager to write more, but I had to come in here and write, because holy crap on a cracker. The biggest shocker of the night was that proposal. And the way he did it, too, was awesome!

He reached up and touched her cheek gently. “I have to do this, though. I want to make a really good life for us...”

“Us?” Nora asked. She raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean? Or should I ask, what did you see?”

Espa led her over to his bed, and sat on the edge of it, pulling her close. “Well. I'm not really as good with this stuff as Jonathan and Christien seem to be....but I guess there's no stopping now, is there?” He asked. The eldest Roba reached under his matress, and produced a ring box. “We're going to be together for a long time, I think. So.. someone once said if you like it, you put a ring on it. They're wrong. When you love it, you should put a ring on it, and make it yours...” He shook his head. “That... didn't come out right, I'm sorry... let me...”

“Just be quiet. So I can say yes.” Nora's eyes danced with tears of happiness as Espa put the ring on her finger. “I...I wasn't even expecting...”

Just OMG. Where did I learn to write this stuff? I have NO experience in that department. Not in the same way some of my other friends do. But yet, I seem to be able to crank out the romance at the drop of a hat!! Maybe I should be writing Romance Novels! Fantasy sure isn't cutting it.

Anway that scene right there was the highlight of my night. I am just so giggly right now!

Trivia: Carlton Pryce is the last Pryce to own the carnival. The Robas have kept the name as it is in his family's memory.
faeriewings1781: (Default)
Over the last couple of weeks, I've been talking to my friend Kay about the psychology behind all of my various fics. First with Marcia and then with Victoria. We talked about how things could really take a long time for both of them to heal.

Tori's long terms effects could become more obvious if they're not monitored completely. She sees "phantom" Aarons and Wyatts where they would have no business going. Indeed, in "The Troubled Triplet" she dared imaginary versions of Wyatt and Marcia to come and stop her from taking Christien's engagement ring.

When she finally meets Wade Munroe in person, she has a lot of issues to overcome, even though she does let him help her with an issue that Espa and his uncles cannot. But she had quite a few false starts before she would let him. Going home was even harder cause there are certain, every day actions, that have become traumatizing for her, such as opening a van door, reclining her seat for her... things that normal people just don't cringe about. There is no doubt in my mind it is going to take a very long time before she is completely healed.

One thing I have loved about her recovery is the way that everyone is on board with it. All the way down to the littlest Robas. Andrew recently just asked her if he could help her somehow. One of my favorite scenes is in the van with Spencer and Cale when Griffon reminds her that Aaron's abduction wasn't the only thing that happened the night of her prom. He casually reminded her that the Robas had gained a family member when Christien proposed to her. I thought that was probably cutest thing ever.

Victoria's recovery is going to happen slowly, if Espa has anything to say about it. He's not rushing her to the carnival, and he's not letting her overextend herself despite how "stir crazy" she claims she's going in the house alone. Which is another great reason for Griffon to be there, even if he will be at school. (Which also makes sense for when she decides to go back, though Christien himself is probably going to go (but for his own reasons).

Christien's psychology is turning a bit ugly, too, though. He's become even more possessive and protective. He wants to control Victoria's decisions because he feels she's not together enough to make sound decisions on her own. >.< I get it, Christien, but lets not go down that road, okay? Okay. I think Spencer said it best: " He's a young man whose deeply in love with his best friend and is watching her slowly slip away from him. Or at least that what he thinks in his head. He knows consciously that you are doing the best you can.” Spencer said.

I've really been thinking about this because I really want to portray her PTSD (and his progression towards possessiveness) in a realistic light. And being as I have been diagnosed with PTSD, I feel like I can kinda figure out how to write it out.

Trivia:The full names of the Triplet Uncles are as Follows: Aaron Lucas Roba, Spencer Thomas Roba, and Cale Elias Roba.

First today's totals so I don't forget:

Words written today: 7,243
Total words:87,254

MS Word 2013 has completely lost it's marbles, folks. It kept insisting I sign into my Microsoft account in order to authenticate my software. Uh, no. I did that when it was initially loaded at Best Buy!! So I was forced to download Open Office since I could not get the damn program to load. Now if you've been friends with me long enough, you know how much I LOATHE Open Office!! Now I've had to manually update my Word count by uploading the whole damn document to NaNoWriMo!! -SIGH- But I still got writing done, as you can see!

Scene wise, nothing big happened. I wrote a couple of what I consider to be potent scenes in VIctoria's recovery process. One with Spencer and Cale telling her that she didn't need to worry about them missing Aaron, one where she and the gang talk about her returning to the Conservatory for college in lieu of going to Julliard, and then my last scene of the night had her confessing to Christien that she was terrified that he'd no longer love her if she couldn't perform as Christine anymore.

The thing is, Victoria's vocal chords were severely damaged from screaming so much during her abduction. So there is a possibility that she will lose her high soprano voice completely, but not her singing voice. She will have to go to a specialist once she is cleared to look into it by her psychologist. I'd like to know what kinda medical insurance the Robas have that Tori can not only go to a specific psychologist at the drop of a hat, but also go to a specialist in vocal care. LOL. (Cause I can't even afford the dental surgery I very obviously need!!) . On the other hand, it is very likely that Kaiba pays for all of that stuff, given Mokuba's friendship first with Marik, and then with Jonathan Roba.

My initial plan is to have the group go over to the school, together. Find out that the school is doing a joint venture production of The Sound of Music, and this way, even if Victoria does perform at the school, Christien is only a little bit away from her. I will also insist (via Espa) that she does not dorm, but comes home after classes. I don't think Victoria can handle dorming at that place yet, Wade or no Wade.

Trivia: Christien and Victoria's first real, sensual kiss was on stage as The Phantom and Christine. (Coincidentally, Victoria was also Jonathan's first kiss since he was playing Raoul)
faeriewings1781: (Default)
HOLY SHIT. Today was a HUGE writing day for me. And a lot of stuff happened!! First though for the totals:

Words written:10,019
Overall total: 72,023

So very much happened today in the fanfic, it's ridiculous. Last night I mentioned that I planned to write the prom/engagement/ and abduction scenes. Check, Check, and Check! The engagement went off well, and of course Victoria said yes! It was funny. Mom was watching my face as I wrote that scene, and she got worried cause I was crying. LOL. But I was crying happy tears! I mean, for crying out loud, the pairing was 10 years old!! It's like watching your kids grow up in a way, you know.

Then of course came the abduction scene. OMG. But the actual kidnapping wasn't nearly as dramatic as the aftermath. Christien got really violently angry. He punched the crap out of a mirror busting up his knuckles pretty bad. He's got murder on his mind, still. I really hope that once he sees that Victoria is technically unharmed he calms down... I made the mistake once with my first draft of Into the Lion's Den 2 letting him "Kill" Wyatt. I'm not going to let that happen.

Two very amusing moments happened during the police's visit to the Robas' house, though. One came from Rex. The other came from Weevil describing that Victoria wouldn't have gone quietly because she makes a big noise about anytihng she doesn't want to do including several of his Biology projects. LOL. I have to say though, like Espa, I found it very amusing and endearing to hear them jumping on Tori's defense. I hope someone tells Tori about Rex standing up for her because if there is one more person Tori needs to be better friends with Rex. They're about in the same place that Espa and Tori were in for a while. A healthy respect for each other.

Then we get to where Aaron actually took Victoria. To his cabin retreat in the mountains out of psychic "earshot" of everyone. And he's trying the same tactics that his father forced on Marcia that partially caused her mental breakdown in the first place. After realizing he's hurt her pretty bad (he snapped her wrist by accident when he psychically knocked her out of a chair), he ices it, and then explains why he's doing what he's doing. After thinking she's melted him, she asks him to go easier on her, but he doesn't.

I discovered tonight that I am infatuated with the word "placate". It is the triplet Robas' favorite word to describe the Robas' treatment of Victoria and giving her her way when she doesn't want to practice using her barrier more. I even think I used the word "placation"? Wow, self. LOL.

Trivia for tonight: Marcia and Victoria share a love of aerial acrobatics. While Marcia was a star trapeze and high wire performer, Victoria is the carnival's current high wire choreographer. She is set to debut her first high wire act after graduation.
faeriewings1781: (Default)
So I didn't write last night. I wish I had cause I Really don't remember what happened yesterday. I think I had the triplets take Victoria to carnival grounds to see just how potent the psychometry was. And it had some mixed results.

Mostly it made the triplets wary that they weren't going to get any work done on her because Espa kept interfering. Then Aaron started to use forceful Suggestion on her, and Espa blew up at all three of them and told them in no certain terms that he alone was responsible for Victoria, and that they had no right to demand complete control of her. Poor guy was even having issues with calling Marik to tell him what was going on with his sister. (I think he's afraid Marik will assume that he can't handle it. But seriously, with all of Victoria's various issues, who can, really? POor girl...)

In the end, Cale and Spencer agreed to help Espa learn some of their techniques, while Aaron continued work on Tori. Yet, Aaron's plotting....

Today, we have the teens preparing for their "prom". Meghan and Kenny are going with Griffon and Jonathan Roba respectively. Of course, Christien is taking Victoria. Jonathan, Christien, and Tori pooled their resources and got Espa a ticket to go as Nora's date since he'd had to drop out of school to take care of his brothers and thereby missed out on his own prom. Heck, they even went as far to rent his tuxedo so he'd have no excuse not to go.

Meanwhile, we find out that Espa helped Christien out with an engagement ring for Victoria which he is planning to give her at the prom. Espa reveals that he's known for a while about Christien and Victoria's engagement, right down to the fact that he knew Christien wanted to do it in a big way. So he'd started saving money to help his brother out.

Some non-NaNo stuff, but completely related. While I was writing the romantic cuteness stuff for Christien and Victoria earlier, I made a plurk about how Christien and Victoria had been my Yu gi oh OTP since 2000 something. This garnered 48 replies while at least 3 other people tried to figure out exactly when I'd fallen in love with the Robas. And it took me all the way to FF.net so that I looked up both "Return to Me" (Christien and Tori's first meeting) and "Entrapment" (when they became a "thing").

We figured out that the ESP Duelist episodes aired on January 25, 2003 and February 2, 2003. There is a very slim possibility I saw them on their original air date cause Joey was involved. LOL. I'm not sure, because I know there were times I couldn't watch the new episodes as they aired. That changed later when Marik's back story aired cause I Refused to miss it.. (Side note: Why, as much as I love Joey, didn't I write more fics for him?!) "Return to Me" was published in 2003, and "Entrapment" was published in 2004. So technically, I missed what would've been Christien and Tori's 10th anniversary last April. (I think I posted the first chapter of ENtrapment on Espa's b-day... I got really good at doing that, I think).

But yeah. I'm so excited to have figured this out. I can't believe I've had an OTP that long! I didn't really even categorize them as that, honestly. I just knew I really enjoyed writing for them. But yeah, they're my OTP, and I'm glad to be re-discovering them!

Trivia: My first Victoria Ishtar fic was a birthday present to my friend [personal profile] insaneladybug who had helped me develop the character more through RP. It was called "Snake in the Grass". This was also the first appearance of Johanna Watson, Yami Bakura's self-appointed "apprentice". Both girls were said to have the yamis as "imaginary" friends. (Oh if only the adults had known....)

Trivia Bonus: Both Victoria and Johanna are fluent in Arabic and reading heiroglyphics.

So after a little scare where my stomach was flipping out because it was empty and full of caffeine at the same time, and my head was driving me crazy because it hurt so badly, I am here and doing fine!

The trick or treaters are slowly pittering out which is amazing, and the best timing ever. Now I am watching Last Man Standing, waiting for Cristela to come on. Yes, I have somehow become addicted to my Friday block again. Yay! And of course my Friday block on ABC is only on until November 21st when (hopefully), Girl Meets World comes back on. Everything else will be recorded, but when November 21st hits, I will be watching. >.> Yes.

Oh and Wednesday nights. Cause Hell's Kitchen, and Red Band Society are finally back on with the World Series finally over. I have no problem with sports, but when it randomly interrupts my TV shows, my claws come out! Though I may record Hell's Kitchen and Redband Society anyway. I usually do record my stuff during NaNoWriMo!

I caught up on tags tonight, and am on track to just sit down and write when that clocks strikes midnight. I can't wait. I've got a LOT of caffeine in my system at this point, but no Mountain Dew yet. Its in the fridge, getting all cold, and ready for me to drink!

I'm almost finished with my quasi-blurb. Espa's just returning to the carnival after being gone for six months. And he's finding out what Jonathan and Victoria have done to change the carnival a bit. (And Victoria finally got her chicken cart. LOL. ) And there is an amazing act to be shown at the very end of the fic. Yay!
faeriewings1781: (Default)
Just a fair warning there are probably going to be a few of these between now and midnight. Just wanted to make sure everyone was aware. You can comment or not. Really, I just need somewhere to put stuff. <3

This one, as it happens is more of an entry about the things that I left loose in Into the Fire. Several things, actually. However, I did leave room for awesome one shots and other fics based not solely on Victoria. I am currently brainstorming in my head some ideas for new fics for the carnival, cute blurbs for Christien and Tori, and a date night for Espa and Nora! <3

More recently, though, I brainstormed out this amazing high-wire act that Griffron, Christien, and Victoria choreographed as a final farewell to their roles as the Phantom and Christine. I call it "The Dueling Phantoms". I will probably be writing that blurb out later because I really loved it! And apparently, Victoria's taken on a carnie name for herself. She's going by Maddie in later fics. A tribute to Madison, which she was known as in No Vacancy when she and Christien ran away to the carnival after Marcia's random visit.

yeah, I'll be writing that blurb out tonight, since I can't really write on "The Main Attraction" yet. (Though I COULD, but I have integrity and don't want to write until the day OF. LOL) Okay, I'm out of here. I'm gonna go write myself some awesome, non-stressful Roba/Tori stuff!

So I woke up in a pretty good mood despite the lack of sleep. WOke up with "Girl Meets Crazy Hat" episode stuck in my head, and Farkle's diabolical, "SUGAR!" pronouncement ringing in my ears. LOL. I love that little guy a bit too much.

Did some cleaning early on, and now I am devoting the rest of the day to writing and working on "Into the Fire". Victoria's about to start training with the triplet uncles, and its not going to be pleasant, and may even cause problems with Espa and his uncles.

I really need to get as much of it done as possible today because the next week is going to go by so fast, it will be ridiculous! Saturday is The Day. That's right, NaNo is coming, and I'm not going to lie. I'm scared to death I am going to fail this year. Not because I won't write, but because of WHAT I will write.

It's just a fun challenge. I keep trying to tell myself that. But anyone who's known me at least one full year knows that I take National Novel Writing Month very seriously. It's a no holds barred writing marathon that allows me to stay up all hours of the night, pouring my heart and soul into whatever the current project is, and it gives me back my social life if even only for a month.

But this year things are different. Something happened between Otakon and September, and I really just don't feel any connection to my original work anymore. This is a bad thing, guys, beecuase I really need to get more work done on my dystopian.

I was supposed to be done with Fanfiction, you know. This wasn't supposed to be a long drawn out thing. But my Robas, and now Farkle, and yeah.... just everoyne is demanding my attention except for my own novels. >.< What should I do?

Before anyone asks: Yes. The fanfics are amazing, and I'm having SO much fun with them, and plotting for the others, but I'm also aware of how they're overtaking my life again. Here are some of things I haven't really talked about much in any of my fanfics.

Most of the cast from the series that are adults now have jobs, such as:

Rex: Social Services

Weevil: Biology teacher (both regular and AP)

Espa: First as a bookstore employee, now he owns Pryce's Carnival of Wonders

Bakura: Page Turner Book store down the street from Duke's Dice Emporium

Ishizu: curator of the Ancient Egyptian exhibits at the museum/Egyptologist

Rishid and Marik: Own a mechanic shop specializing in Motorcycles and scooters
Joey: Is currently in school for psychology

Meghan and Kendra work behind the scenes and as understudies in community theatre during the spring and summer months

Mokuba spends his free time helping over at KaibaCorp (often more than Seto would like because he wants his little brother to be a kid)

Victoria and the younger Robas help Espa at the carnival at every spare opportunity. They also do community theatre there in Skyesville, and ahve done so for 3 seasons (as of Into the Lion's Den) (PS: TOri's favorite carnival job is cleaning up)

Victoria's other, unofficial title is "Neighborhood babysitter", as she often can be found watching over Monica Raptor and Joey's cousin, Lacey when she's in Domino, and she is the unofficial standing sitter for Andrew and Ej Roba at the carnival. She can often be found running a playgroup when the Robas are in Domino for special events.

No trivia today. I just wanted to get some things out! See you guys next entry!

Sick Day

Oct. 20th, 2014 08:54 pm

Today was a bit of a sick day. I woke up with the same scratchy throat I went to bed with. I'm so frustrated. I need to get rid of this crap. Yes, I have been on antibiotics, and they're gone. But now I'm... right back to it. This kinda sucks badly. I have a Halloween Party on Saturday. I can't afford to keep being sick. >.< Not to mention the following Saturday I think is the 1st? I am freaking out, people.

Today was good, other than that, and the fact that Patrick had the audacity to come over here and accuse my brother of stealing fire wood from him. Yeah, apparently some neighbor, or so I'm assuming, is telling Patrick that my brother took fire wood. Shuck that. No one stealing anything from him. And he KNEW I was feeling craptastic, so that really didn't help me.

The bright side of the day? Well, settled on a few things. It looks like I'm going to be involved with fanfiction for a long time yet. First with my Yu gi oh/ Roba fics taking off. Then my friends that like Girl Meets World enabling me to write a Minkus vs. Matthews Then I got this idea for a Simon/Jeanette fanfic for the Chipmunks. I am just like, "AHHHH! What are you doing to me, Fanfic?!!" But this also makes me happy because for a while I hadn't really felt like writing and now all of a sudden, the flood gates are open. So if it's Fanfiction, oh well.

Last but not least today, my Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked bluray came in the mail! Yay! I spent about an hour and a half watching the DVDs extras. This included a behind the scenes on the guy who did the voice of Simone, Alan Tudyk. It wasn't nearly as informative as it was funny. Matthew Gray Gubler was hilarious in that short. It was funny how explained why he couldn't play Simone, and how protective he got of the "Simon" character. He reminds me of myself. And yeah, I think they made the right decision letting someone else with a better French accent play Simone. I love you, Matt, but you cannot do a French accent to save your life.

Trivia: Matthew Gray Gubler plays 2 of my favorite fictional characters. He is Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds, and Simon Seville in Alvin and the Chipmunks live action/CGI movies. Both are considered geniuses. (Simon's IQ being stated be "somewhere North of Einstein") Because of this, Matthew has become one of my favorite actors.

So when I started Into the Lion's Den back in September, I said it was my closure fic, and that I was compelled to write it because I was never able to really get it done, and out there. Well, here's the thing about that. I probably opened more doors than I closed.

As I was writing for Into the Lion's Den, and reacquainting myself with my own head canon, I discovered some interesting things had taken place in the verse while I was away getting involved in more "adult" things. First was the revelation that Griffon was the Robas' cousin. And second, that there was a STRONG STRONG possibility that Marcia had been manipulated into a relationship with Julius (which will be explored more in depth in a separate fic).

That being said, I now know I am probably going to be writing fanfiction for Yu gi oh for a long time now. Here is what's on deck next after "Into the Fire":

1. Marcia's Story (I have not come up with a title. Suggestions are welcomed!)

2. A story about how Victoria wound up becoming the standing babysitter for the Robas, and the development of her relationship with Espa in that respect.

3. Some story based on Julius and Marcia's time line that is more focused on his triplet brothers, Spencer, Aaron, and Cale.

And then some miscellaneous things I've already mentioned in passing but will seriously consider if this trend continues:

Christien and Victoria's wedding

A story based around Jonathan and Nikki (because I feel awful I haven't really explored that much since The Roba Diaries).

Some future time line exploring Espa teaching at a university, and his growing relationship with Nora (again cause I swear the others got shafted once the Victoria/Christien thing developed)

Jonathan, Christien, and Victoria's future adventures as co-owners of the carnival

Victoria's choice to go on to Juilliard despite the connotation it held for Wyatt when she was a teen.

And definitely some stories for Ej and Andrew. Though I haven't really thought much about where they were going to go in the future. I know it's already been stated that Victoria is no longer their standing sitter though she still seems to take that role whenever its called for. I personally think she will forever label herself as such until either Andrew or Ej say otherwise. As of now Ej and Andrew are starting to see her as an adoptive sister and less of a sitter.

Granted many of these particular stories can be written as blurbs or one-shots. But I am more prone to longer stories, so we'll see what happens there. And these are more like suggestions for stories I could write. I have enough knowledge of the Roba verse in my own headcanon that I don't need to watch the episodes anymore.

Oh. A note about that. In this current fic, it's going to be revealed that Victoria actually has no real memory of the ESP Duelist episodes. She's only seen it once when she was still living with her abusive father, and the psych ward the Johnsons put her in disallowed any association with the cartoon so she was never able to see it again. The only reason she knows about Jinzo and what Espa did is because of Jo. Wait'll Espa and the Robas hear that!!

So it seems I will be in the Fanfiction business for a while longer. I *had* to open that door, didn't I? LOL.

Trivia: Victoria only knows the Bikers from the Doom/Doma saga because Johanna told her about them. When she comes to the Yu gi oh-verse to live, she has only vague memories of certain characters after Battle City due to the fact she was basically forbidden to watch the show. The Ishtars are her strongest memory because of their prior assistance in getting her out of her "father"'s care. She is vaguely aware of Weevil and Rex due to Duelist Kingdom, and vaguely aware of Espa Roba and his brothers because of Jo.

So the last entry I wrote I talked about how much I loved Alvin and the Chipmunks. Tonight I want to talk about another part of my childhood. This time we're going back to the 90s when Nickelodeon catered to the Teen crowd in a unique way. That's right. I am talking about
Snick Logo !!

Snick aired in the 90s and was a 2 hour programming block. Now this block changed up every so often, but a few of the TV shows have remained close to my heart years later. These shows included: Space Cases, Roundhouse, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Clarissa Explains It All, and my personal favorite, Are You AFraid of the Dark. Every Saturday, my younger brother and I would settle down in the basement of our first real house, and watch. Mom never let Chris watch Are You Afraid of the Dark after catching one episode that gave him nightmares.

What triggered THIS particular bit of nostalgia? Well, just recently on Facebook Are You Afraid of the Dark? was trending because it has legally been put on Youtube in it's entirety!! Personally, I think I'll start saving for the DVDs, but it is nice to see that people are thinking outside the box about how they can give nostalgic fans what they really want. I just wish Teen Nick would run some of the OTHER great SNICK shows once in a while.

I finished Into the Lion's Den (complete with additions) this morning. Sent it to Lexi because she was curious to see if I still had it in me to write the Robas. Here's my answer. I have NO clue if I still did them justice. Christien felt right, Espa felt right... Jonathan was a bit different. More...Espa-ish. But I always imagined Jonathan taking after Espa and Ej taking after Christien, as the youngest Roba is just as quiet as his middle brother.

Started Into the Fire, the sequel. Well, sort of. It was actually the Epilogue for Into the Lion's Den. Well, the original epilogue. I am probably going to scrap it and start it over again, but we'll see. I'll be working that out tomorrow while I'm at Barnes and Noble. I figured while the juices are flowing, I had better take advantage of it.

I have other fics planned for AFTER NaNoWriMo. A prequel exploring how Marcia and Julius Roba met, and a string stories that will focus solely on Victoria's time actually living with the Robas after High School, leading up to Espa's departure from the Carnival to pursue a degree in Parapsychology, and handing the reigns to Jonathan. There will also be a wedding short written for Victoria and Christien, since I'm pretty sure I won't rest easy till I see that done.

I'm trying to figure out if Victoria will eventually get to college herself. I am certain she will be a music major. But we'll have to see if something comes up where I'd be able to explore that a bit more. I don't want ot be stuck on Fanfic forever because I fought it for a long time to quit writing. But when the muses are hot... lol. I always said that I would write fanfic until it was no longer fun. Maybe when I quit before, it had become less fun for me. Now I'm having fun again, so maybe I'll just ride this out. I like this idea. Yeah.

Trivia: Sykesville is named after a small town here in Maryland where I live. The town is known for small carnivals in the Fall and Spring.

Hi everyone! Finally feeling better, and I am back on the planning wagon for NaNoWriMo. The official website is down still, and has not been reset for official prep, but that's okay! I've got plenty of places I can write planning things down in.

But before I forget!! I want to wish my dear friend, [personal profile] insaneladybug A very happy birthday!! I'm sending you lots of love and hugs, my dear friend.

I got some planning advice from Joelle Charbonneau, author of the New York Times Best Selling series, The Testing trilogy. Originally I had always thought that world building in a dystopian was the most important thing. She listened (read) what I had going on in my novel, and told me 1) scale back my world building and 2) to just let the story tell itself. Let the characters guide me. Don't worry so much about the world building aspect and let it happen naturally. She said that she started with just Cia and her family, and then went from there. Maybe I need to start with just Atlas and Essex, and let Journey and Bridget come in naturally. (I also think I may be aging Bridget up a bit. It is VERY hard to write consistently for a five-year-old with the intensity I need this to have. Unless she's suddenly extremely intelligent like Angel from James Patterson's Maximum Ride series... which I refuse to let happen. I'm borrowing from enough series as it is.

But while I'm planning a LOT for NaNoWriMo, in the background the plotting for Into the Lion's Den's sequel is beginning, too, and that's even more intense now that I've gotten the Royal Albert Hall recording of The Phantom of the Opera and the Bluray. <3 I am so excited to have this, as it is the first live performance I ever saw, and as much as I will always love Sarah and Michael, Ramin and Sierra have won me over completely in their roles of Christine and the Phantom respectively. Do I wish they'd kept the lyrics for the original? Yes. But I do understand that lyrics get changed for varying productions for various reasons. So as I am listening to this soundtrack in full without watching the production, I feel like I am listening to a live production as they did not edit out the applause. I love that. Its magical for me. But it's also giving me Tori and Christien feels. LOL. Even though by the end of Into the Lion's Den part 1, Victoria has admitted to Griffon that he's a VERY good Phantom.... ROFL. Christien would have to be having a pretty bad day because she has chosen him every time.

Took Mom to see Dolphin Tale 2 today. She and I both love the stories of Winter the dolphin with the prosthetic fin, and this story was just as heartwarming as the first one was. I loved it. I especially liked that the main credits at the end showed actual footage of the new dolphin, Hope. And a few of the other animals that Clearwater Marine Aquarium have rescued, rehabbed and released. I know that some of hte proceeds for the movie tickets go to the aquarium so I am happy to be able to give to that cause.

Tonight I am working on braclets for the series, The Testing. My friend Joelle (yes the same as above) agreed that there needed to be merchandise. She thinks if there is ever a movie made of The Testing, that could happen. I want to make something to hold me and a few other loyalists over until that time, if it ever happens. I think Dystopians are pittering out now though, and that's really sad for me. But I'll hope they keep going. With the first part of Mockingjay being released for The Hunger Games next month, and Insurgent released in March for Divergent trilogy,we're running out of dystopian movies! Thank goodness The Maze Runner trilogy got picked up officially. (Technically there's four, but I don't think the last book, which is a prequel, will be a movie).

Trivia: The first Dystopian series I ever read was The Hunger Games trilogy after quite a few false starts. Now I can pick out the Mockingjay tune in a crowded mall.
